PHOTOGENIC® STARTS A NEW CENTURY
Photogenic® Professional Lighting celebrated its 100th birthday in 2004.
The new management team, formed in 2003, established bold initiatives, and programs that will keep Photogenic® in the forefront of the photographic lighting industry.
In September, 2004, Photogenic® and its sister company Smith-Victor Corporation moved into a new custom built 96,000 square foot headquarters in Bartlett, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The new building houses the manufacturing, marketing, sales, service and administrative divisions of both companies.
The companies have implemented Kanban, an on demand manufacturing process, to control the flow of materials throughout the fabrication process. This will mean a
dramatic improvement in manufacturing efficiencies and a significant reduction in backorders. New order entry and order processing systems provide faster order handling and shipping.
NEW CATALOG
The New Photogenic® full line catalog is available now. The 60 page, four color catalog features images of virtually every Photogenic® product from SolairTM, PowerLights® and StudioMax® III to all the accessories, including items like the 1” tall LS-A11 light stand adapter. You won’t need to guess which product you need. They are all identified with an image and description. We have even added some of the most commonly requested replacement parts. NEW PRODUCTS
PHOTOGENIC® AND POCKETWIZARD®: THE PROFESSIONAL WIRELESS TEAM
Now, a built-in PocketWizard® receiver for less than the cost of a standard receiver. Photogenic® and PocketWizard® combine technologies to bring you wireless triggering built into PL2 series PowerLights®. All “DR” and SolairTM Constant-Color models will be available with 32 channel radio technology that wirelessly trigger your strobes up to a distance of 1600 feet. You can use multiple lights in the studio or on location and never worry about your lights being triggered by another photographers flash. No more unreliable sync cords. Improve your digital images immediately by eliminating sync cord line noise. Position your lights anywhere, not just where the sync cord reaches. It’s easy. Just set the radio PowerLight® to one of 32 channels on the PocketWizard® transmitter, and you are ready for wireless triggering.
