Photogenic Professional Lighting Acquired by Promark International, Inc.
Photogenic Professional Lighting, one of the oldest manufacturers in the photographic industry, was acquired by Promark International, Inc. Promark also owns Smith-Victor Corporation, a 131-year-old lighting manufacturer. “The Photogenic name is well-respected in the photographic industry,” stated Kenneth Orlando, President of Smith-Victor and new owner of Photogenic. “It has a solid reputation for providing quality products at reasonable prices.”

“The photographic industry is very healthy with many opportunities for us to grow. The combination of Photogenic and Smith-Victor makes sense from a business standpoint and from the standpoint of our dealer network, “ Ken Orlando continued. “We plan to continue to support our dealer network by expanding the product line with the same quality workmanship to which they have become accustomed”. Photogenic products are manufactured in Boardman, Ohio and Fredericksburg, Ohio.

Promark International, Inc. completed the acquisition of Photogenic Professional Lighting, Youngstown, Ohio. Promark acquired Photogenic’s name and assets, and plans to continue manufacturing the Photogenic brand of professional strobe equipment and accessories.

Photogenic Completes Relocation to Illinois
Photogenic Professional Lighting has recently completed the relocation of its operations to a new 96,000 square foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located near Chicago. Since its inception in 1903, Photogenic was located in Boardman, Ohio, and operated out of two facilities that were 90 miles apart. The move to Chicago brings the manufacturing operations under the same roof as sales and marketing, engineering and other administrative departments. Smith-Victor Corporation, which is under the same ownership as Photogenic, is a 131-year-old photographic lighting manufacturer and was also relocated to the new Illinois facility from Griffith, IN.
